Tests and exams: the big picture
How questions, tests, attempts and results fit together.

Questions live in a question bank. A test draws questions from the bank (or holds its own) and is scheduled for an audience. Each time a person sits it, that is an attempt. Attempts produce results, and results can produce certificates.

- Draft tests are being built. Published tests are open in their window. Closed tests are past their deadline.
- A candidate has one open attempt at a time; reloading or opening a second tab resumes the same attempt.
- The timer runs on the server, so refreshing does not give extra time.
